35's 0r 37's

I am putting a 6 inch lift on my fx2 with a leveling kit and 5 inch rear block. My question is would I have to regear if I decided to put 37's on? I don't do any offroading and it would be strictly for looks, or should I just stick with the 35's?

regear would help your power. if u can deal with a turd, its fine not to regear. cant go wrong with regearing though.

u can crawl under your truck and look at rear axle, there will be a tag there saying what uve got. also in the door jam i do believe there will be a code. use search feature to find out what it means.

I'd guess either a 3.55 or a 3.73 w/ or w/o a limited slip. It's going to be a pig with stock gears and 37s. I've heard 35s are driveable, but if you can afford it, definitely regear.

35" tires = not necessary but still helpfull.

37+ = gearing necessary and will help the trans.

Gear will not only help wake your truck up but it will also make the trans last much longer than running with the stock gears and LARGE tires.

IMO regearing is a GREAT idea for 35"+ tires These trucks are HEAVY and even 4.10's or 4.30's will help out a TON.

The MOST popular gears in these trucks are 3:55's and 3:73's. If you go to you sticker inside the door and read what it says under AXEL ill tell you what you have.

your making me jealous on the beers thing. So do you think I should stick with the 35's, because I have dropped way too much cash to regear right now.

yeah you can alsways regear one dif at a time but you cant use your 4x4 untill both diffs have the same gears in them.

You can get away without regearing for a short time but you really need to do it as soon as possible after a lift and big tires

Well since you dont have a 4x4 I think you should go with 37's if thats what your considering. You'll only have to regear the rear diff so that will come out alot cheaper than regearing a 4x4.
