How to ship tires..

I found the set of tires I want for a good pice, but they are in CA and I live in MO, they are 315/75R16 and according to the web weigh 67# each, I just gave UPS a call and the guy actually laughed because the price for ground was so outrageous. $530 to ship all for via ground, there has to be a better way of getting them shipped any Ideas?
Thanks
-Matt

Take a road trip. Drive there to get them. Drive home with them.

I use FexEx Freight at work, if you have an account with them it's pretty reasonable if not look out on the rates. All motor freight rate's are pretty close for each company. Shop around.
