Let's see if I've learned anything from this site. If I go from a factory 18x7.5 and go with a 17x8 with 4.75 BS then my new tires will stick out approx. 3/4 to 1 inch over factory? 1/2" more for rim width and 1/4-1/2" more for less backspacing if we are talking 5 to 5.5 factory. Is this correct? Tires will be 305/70/17.

 

It will stick out 1 and 1/4" more. Stock BS of the 18x7.5 is 5.5". 3/4" less BS + 1/2" wider width is 1 and 1/4". That + a wider tire will be even more.
