Need New Tires for my stock 20" wheels

Hey Everyone. I need new tires to replace the Pirellis that came on the truck when I bought it. I have the 20" wheels, so the stock tire size is 275/55 R 20. I'd love to purchase a set of BGF A/Ts, but they don't make that size tire.

Has anybody put another size BFG A/T on these wheels? My truck is a 4x4, so there is a fair amount of clearance.

If not, what other tires to you guys recommend for an all-terrain. The Pirelli seems to get great reviews and it was a good tire for me, but it doesn't have the look of the BFG.

If you have any pictures of tires on your 20", please post them! Thanks so much.

Do you have a leveling kit? Are you interested in one? If so 35s will fit.

I do not have a leveling kit, but am not opposed to one. Does BFG make a tire closer to a 33"? I'd like to do the smallest leveling kit possible. Maybe 1.5 or 2?

I'd add a leveling kit and a set of 285/55-20 (33x11.50) or 305/55-20 (33x12.50) BFG AT KO's.

Thanks for the help guys. If I do a 2" leveling kit, would 285/55-20 (33x11.50) rub at all? Any recommendations on a particular kit?

I would be leary of that one. Some of the others that have mounting holes in them for the top of the strut seem like they would be more sturdy...Check out Auto Spring or Fat Bobs Garage. Both have great reviews. Also, don't go anymore than 2.5"....doing so will result in bad angles on your ball joints and cause premature wear...Also, if your spring completely unloads while in motion(i.e off roading, hellacious pot hole) you can damage your spring and/or strut. Just some advce!

You can buy an Autospring kit for less than that plus it's easier to install.

Great Advice! Is there any harm in going with the 2.5" then? Would it really make any difference to try to find a 2"? With only 1/2" difference, I can't imagine it would have much effect either way.

You will love it. When I bought my truck, it already had the leveling kit installed. I now have a set of 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrain tires on it, and couldnt be happier. In fact, I truly believe that my tires have saved my butt twice already! One night, rainy and cold, a nice buck stepped into the road...i swerved and missed it...not with the pirellis...too soft of a side wall. Then, just last night, the mrs and i were out looking at Christmas lights and I pulled off of the road so we could get a good look...well, nice and soft--oh and muddy too!...No issues getting back on the road with out 4 wheel drive. I contribute that to the tires as well! Just a suggestion!

ALSO, make sure you get an alignment done after you install the leveling kit. If you dont, you wont like how the new tires you just bought wear quickly...and un evenly!!!

Thanks vtelvr. I'm probably going to do a 285/55 R20 and am looking at the BFG, Michelin AT2, and Nitto. I have heard a lot of good things about the Michelin recently. I know it isn't quite as aggressive appearance, but has great ride, lots of miles, and still is pretty good off-road. I think it looks better than the Pirelli.
