What do they mean by (Offset) when talking Rims

I'm looking at getting some 24" rims for my FX4 and I was wondering what they ment by offset? I have a choice between 38 or 35, do they mean the size of the lip or "dish"

Go ahead and "donk" your nice truck...whatever that means. This is my setup for the summer/spring. I believe the offset on my wheels are 30

Thanks for the reply's.

Mpg32- What size are those rims? I was looking at a very simular set called the Avator Bigwheels.org has them.

24"s look really good on the 2007 FX4 Screw, it doesn't look off at all.

So what I got out of that diagram was the more offset I have the more the wheel will stick out past the fender. Correct?

That has got to be the ugliest truck I have ever seen. Anything bigger than 22 on a truck looks ridiculous.

24's look fine on a full size pickup. Now if it was a Ranger, it would look like a donk wiht 24's.

Believe the dealer can do it. Waste of money imo. I just try to remember i'm going about 2 mph faster then what it reads.

Black boss 330's. They are 24X10. 305/35/24 rubber. NO calibration was needed for me...the speedo had little to no change.

07blk don't listen to them, I get compliments everyday in the summer. I literely got mobbed at the gas station one day by a bunch of guys asking about the truck. I could honestly tell you a handful of other stores too but I won't get into that and just ask the ladies if they like them...everyone I drive up to leaves a wet spot in there shorts!

Yes I know its a FX4 BUT in the winter/fall the stockers go back on and I do a lot of offroading/towing for waterfowl hunting.(14' enclosed decoy trailer, muddy fields ect). I was going to lift it at first but my friends would prolly kill me because of the MPG loss w/ 35" tires. Thats why I went this route...I wanted the stock wheels/tires for winter/fall.

I actualy got them from a guy off craigslist...they were pretty much brand new, only were on for like 1,000 miles. I'm not sure where the best place to buy would be?
