dumb question I know

Okay, here's the deal, I had four of the stock tires on the truck. About two months ago I was out hunting and one tire just blew up on a dirt road, then I started looking at the other tires, and they all were shot too. So I went to my local scrap yard to get some tires, I ended up getting only two they wer 265/70/17, but I couldn't find four so I had to go to Sears and buy a new tire and I used the spare tire on the rear and I have one of the old tires as a spare cause it was the best looking.

So my question is since I have 265/70/17 on the front and 255/70/17 on the rear, should I buy a whole new set or just buy two 265/70/17 for the rear. I need to be able to put the truck in 4 wheel drive It snows out here and of course I have a 19 mile drive that has to be made whether its snowing or not.

Yes get the same size. Also you do not want 2 severely worn fronts and 2 brand new rears. You could have a difference of almost 1" between front and rear in that scenario.
