I hate hawk brakes

The 2 pads that come highly rated here are the Carquest Blue Semi Metallics (that is what I cam running) Great pad little dust and the Wagner Thermo Quiets. Try either of those and you will be happier!

I've got Carquest "blue" series pads at all 4 corners now. The rears for a while now and the fronts for a few weeks. These are the ceramics in the "blue" series and so far, 2 thumbs way up. The others which I had all kinds of luck with was the "blue" semi-metallics. These and the Wagners are proven winners. Alot of the high end pads seem overkill with all kinds of fancy race inspired ingrediants and while they may brake better (subjective) they dust like BMW's. I will say, the Ceramics I just put on are more grabby, but I had shot calipers too that were replaced so who can really tell. They brake excellent for me and dust is again near zero to date.

I'm using Performance Friction Carbon Metallics on the front & rear of my daughter's Honda Prelude, and the front of the wifey's Windstar and so far I have not noticed any excess dust....
and they stop real good too......
I'm putting a set on my F150 in the spring.
I would have put a set on my F250, but I didn't want to spend $80+ on pads for a truck that I'm getting rid of soon......
Price for most applications seems in line with the "best" Semi metallic pads the parts stores sell.
The F250 pads are pretty big (91 4X4 8800 gvw) so I guess that's why they were so much.
I got mine at Autozone.

I hate Carquest blues - Use to love them, used them for years. They don't make them like they use to.. Rivets popped/plates came apart and we almost bought the farm.. That ends that.
If you own them, CHECK the rivots, those plates will mangle when they pop. Pads were fairly new/ still thick. -There's nothing like pulling the calipers on the side of e-way @ 2am , chisling off what was left of the plates and throwing it back together/ pulling 3500 lbs w/ 200 miles in front of yuh.. Tired dirty and p^ssed off.. - Never again. I've had it w/car quest blues. They started screwing around changing stuff on a good pad that they should have just left alone. That's pretty close to how I really feel .. Damn things!
They worked fine after the plates were removed. BUT, don't trust them now.
Switching to NAPA unless someone posts up a better set to get.
