KMC Monsters vs Pro Comp 7005s -- which would you buy?
#16
I do a lot of chops before doing anything to my truck just to be safe. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought of these wheels. You said you were between these two as well. Are you leaning towards either one? Personally my preference before this thread was the 18" Pro Comps. So I'm glad the poll is leaning with me.

hah.. Well here's my opinion.. but I simply choose the 7005s because I thought they looked better. Compared to the Monsters, they have a more rugged look to them. The 7005s are proportioned equally, with less negative space. The Monsters look nice, but they seem to fit more of a street look, with their skinnier and longer spokes. Either way, you can't go wrong.. but the 7005s definately caught my eye when I first started looking around, and I never went back...
Not to get into the whole 18" vs 20" wheel size debate.. my truck came with the stock 20" wheels and I thought it looked nice the way it was, but I obviously didn't stay stock either.. Here's my take on wheel sizes.. chrome rims look bigger than black rims.. sure they are both 20", but black wheels blend in more with than rubber so it generally makes them look smaller.. which is kinda a good thing.. It all comes down to personal preference.. For me.. I looked around, and I think 20" in the 7005s looked them best for my 35" Toyos.. but since you said you're considering 33" I think 18" wheels either way you go would look best..
That being said.. what size lift are you going with? I dunno bout IDNC but I think he just has a 3" body lift.. and he has 35s with the 7005s on.. either way, his truck looks great too.. 33"s are nice, but if you can fit 35s, then by all means..
I have a ProComp 6" lift, and I still had to trim a 1" triangle on my lower valence for rubbing at full lock.. no big deal..

Thanks for the offer, but I'm pretty handy with photoshop myself.

right now i think im going to go with the monsters. i really like both of them and would really like to see the 7005's in person but my local 4wp stores dont have them on the wall and they are backordered awhile
so idk im still kinda up in the air but after i saw this pic below. i leaned toward the monsters because it was the first pic i had seen of the monster wrapped in BFG a/t. which is the tire im going with
i am going to be like zeruin though and paint the chrome bolts, nuts whatever you want to call them

I say the Pro Comp 7105 to see a little breakup of metal and rubber, not just a huge rolling back turd.
EDIT: if you can't find them because they are on backorder, I stumbled across these.

hivoltage, your truck looks awesome with those. Have you thought about painting your emblems and steps black? That would look really good IMO. Oh and is that a 2" or 2.5" leveling kit?
Tally: (updated)
Pro Comps - 9
Monsters - 6
18" - 8
20" - 3

You should paint your headlights when you get the new wheels/tires. That would look sick. Nice truck!
Okay I'm a complete beginner when it comes to fitting tires/wheels. I'm getting 33" Toyos, so which size do I need? Probably going with 18" wheels, so it's either 33x12.5x18 or 275/70R18. I may be wrong but besides the extra .6" on the 275, the only difference is the width, correct? Could someone help me out here?
