I would go with a 20x9 inch wheel with at least 5 inches of backspacing. This should allow you to fit 285/55-20's (33x11.50). If you can find a wheel with a little more bs you could probably squeeze a 305/55-20 (33x12.50) on there. You will probably have to do a little trimming with these combos.

I'd stick with a 285/55-20 (33x12.50) or a 305/50-20 (32x12.50) on a 8 or 8.5 inch wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing then. The narrower wheel will probably eliminate the need to trim.

Wadell,

I have 305/55/20's on factory 20's and have no issue which would require trimming of anything. Plenty of clearance all around. They just barely rub the UCA at full lock, just barely!

Your truck is a 4x4, which sits taller than his 4x2.

thanks for all the help. I think i'm going to go with the 20" rockstars with 8.5" width or 20"monsters in the 9". now with that said the backspacing on the mosters is 5.71 and on the rockstars it is 6.13. what size tires the 285's or the 305's would look better and what tires do you think are the best performing as far as not too often off roading capability but still pretty good street tires.

I think a 305 will look a little better, if it will fit without major rubbing. As for a tire itself, I'd recommend the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT, Pro Comp Xtreme AT, **** Cepek FC II or Mickey Thompson ATZ.
