Backspacing issue on Pro Comp 6"

Does anybody really know what max/min backspacing you can run with the Pro Comp 6"?

I'm pretty sure I read on their site that it fits a min. of 4" and a max of 5". I have also read on here and other forums that people have used wheels outside of those perameters. The other thing is that Rough Country makes specific claims on their site about bs measurements for their 6" of 4.5" min and 5" max but I've read more than one article that says they developed the kit using factory wheels.

The real question I have is....I have 18x9 wheels with a bs of 5 1/2" which is less that what the factory measurements are. Even though they are outside the recomended measurements, will they still work?

Anybody got any knowledge for me?

its not fun when theres rubbing you can only fix with new wheels

pro-comp wont work with stock wheels

Most require a 9" wide wheel with 5 inches of backspace. Best to check with lift manufacturer.

Pro Comp will NOT work with stock backspacing. I got the 6" procomp a few months ago and put it on. When I put my Mickey Thompson rims back on they rubbed the tierod end when you turned the wheels in both directions. Im still driving it until I figure out what rims and tires I want next but I hav to keep in mind not to turn all the way.

Hey NJ......

What measurements(diameteter/width/backspacing) are your MT wheels?

How far can you turn the wheels until they rub?

My oem xlt 17" rims do the same thing on my 6" PC. I ran my stock rims though for a road trip for 1,000 miles. They work, but you really have to watch your turning. It cuts down on your turning radius quite a bit.
My pro-comp rims are 17x9 with 4.75" BS and I can turn full lock with no problems.
