New tire question

I have the factory 18's on my 06 FX4 and wanting to put a 325x60 or a 325x65 Nitto Terra Grapler. Will this fit or will I have to do some trimming? Thanks for your help.

Not my truck, just a reference....

Nitto Terra Grapplers - 325/65/18, basically a 35/13. Great tire, quite on the street, and competent off road in situations like towing a trailer on sand (I don't wheel this truck). Rub a little at full lock. Despite what they say fit the full size spare under the bed. Lost 1mpg average, down from 15 to 14 over 5,000 miles.
His truck is leveled with 2" bilstein 5100's.

As you see it can be done, but a 325 tire is too wide for a stock 7 1/2" wheel. A 305x65x18 would be about the max. BFG makes this size in an AT and it's close to 34 inches tall and they fit and look great on stock wheels.

The worst that's going to happen is the center of the tires will wear a little more than the outside.
But I personally wouldn't go for the 325's on stock wheels without a lift. 35x12.50's are pushing it, but really this is almost no difference between the two.
The 305/65/18 is the perfect tire size for a leveled F150 with factory tires I think, too. They look great and won't rub, and the tires don't looked stuffed. The only reason I didn't go with this size is because I only found BFG A/T's in that size. Every other tire was a 305/60 and I wanted taller. The BFG A/T is a good tire but I don't care for their performance in mud at all. I'm not in mud all that much lately but I like a good tire when I am.

I forgot to mention that I do have the 2" level kit. The 325/65's look good, but was leaning to the 325/60. Thanks for the advice guys. Wanted to make sure they fit before buying them.

The 325x65's are a huge tire to jam on a stock wheel with only a leveling kit. It has been done but it will cause a lot of rubbing problem's. A 325x60 on a 8 1/2 or 9" wide wheel would work out great. Stock wheel's may cause some problem's also if you put 325x60's on them. Check with Wandell to make sure before you buy.

I agree. I wouldn't mount a 325mm wide tire on a 7.5 inch wide wheel. I'd stick with a 305mm (12.50 inch) wide tire.

What kind of problems could I have if I went ahead and mounted the 325/60's

You run the possibily of uneven tread wear. Running a tire too wide can cause the center portion of the tread to wear slightly faster than normal, similar to running too much air pressure.
