If I could get away with only lifting the front with a leveling kit and being able to keep my stock wheels, I'd definitly be interested in 35's. I have the 5.4, not sure what my gears are, I'll have to find out. Do the 35's bog down ur power and economy much? I don't want to have to spend a whole lot more for tires, extra lift, etc.

Man that's ALOT of rubber! Did you have to trim, or do they rub at all? See any power/mpg loss?

Mavrick,

I could be wrong, but I believe with your 5.4 and the FX4 package, you probably have at least 3.73 gears. I can't imagine you'd lose more than 1 mpg. I really doubt you'd feel it bog down either, especially for just general driving. As someone desperately wanting to upgrade from 33" to 35" tires, but can't talk my wife into the necessary lift for my truck, I would say go for it on the 35's. It would look great and I don't think you'd see a huge impact on your performance. I have an older body style so maybe some of the newer body style owners will chime in to help you out.

Mine is only a 4x2 but I have Nitto TG's 285/65R18 (33's) on my OEM wheels and love the look and drive.

Do your 35's rub at all with your leveling kit?

yeah I'll mostley be driving around town, a little highway, occasional offroad for hunting camping etc....not an off road extremist...but I love the look of the 35's...they just look meaner w/ 18's than the 33's do. I'm going to be adding a Gryphon, exhaust and CAI, so I'm sure that'll make up for any performance/economy loss. I still need to give PHP a call and to see what they think! I hate that the BFG's are spendier but I love their look better than the nitto's or any of the other brands. so what kind of lift do you need to go to the 35's? I'm hoping I can get away w/ just doing a 2.5" leveling kit from AS, they say it'll clear 35's, but who knows if they run or not:

That leveling kit will be plenty. The key is you're keeping the stock wheels. Doing that allows that leveling kit to be all you need to fit 35's with no rubbing. Glad to hear you're leaning that way. You'll be much happier going with the 35's and the BFG's are a great tire. Only reason I went with the Nitto's initially was because I wanted something different than what everyone else seemed to run in an all-terrain. Liked the tread pattern and now that I have them, I like the ride better. Not quite as hard as the BFG's. But there's no doubt BFG makes a top of the line all-terrain.

I really want to do a 2" kit, but not sure if it'll work or not, gotta measure and talk to the pros when I get home. As much was set on 33's at first, now I'm just as set on 35's, they just look better w/ 18's. I'm glad to hear that keeping the stock wheels helps, definitly like they way they look and dont want to spend money on new ones. I like the Nitto's too, but I prefer the look of the BFG A/T w/ the raised white letters. Now I gotta find a deal on 'em! Thanks again for all the help!
