MTs or ATs, trying to strike a balance
I'm a family man (early 40's), not into way jacked up rigs, but like a nice looking ride. I'm struggling with $325/tire for the Toyo MTs, or $250/tire for the ATs. Living out west I drive a lot in snow and on dirt/gravel roads for hunting. But most miles are on pavement. I'm trying to balance looks, price, mileage, road noise, traction, and ride (not necessarily in that order) between these two tires. I like the 10 ply Toyo since they stand up against rock drill on these forest roads out here. Ideas, opinions, and suggestions, without making me feel too old please.
They're going on a '07 F150 4X4 XLT, Super crew, 2" leveling kit.

Mark, I think imo your answer lies with the BFGoodrich All-Terrains. Taken from most reviews they have excellent performance on dirt/gravel and in the snow. I know from personal experience that they look great on our trucks, and they provide a smooth ride on the highway.
They come in E rated and fit between the two prices you listed for your other choices. From what I've read they mostly lack performance in deep or sticky mud.
You can look at my album to see what they look like on a supercrew with a 2" level.

i also just got my BFG A/T's on yesterday and would definatly recommend those.
my dad has them on his f-250 and its gives a great ride on pavement while still holding up very well on dirt etc
we live in seattle and go hunting in eastern wa, i see that you are from northeast oregon. the BFG are great for the money
i would go with those and be done with it, you wont be dissapointed

I would suggest the Pro Comp Extreme A/T's. The most aggressive looking all terrain, they are also 10 ply and are extremely quiet on the highway. They are good in the snow as well. I live in Michigan so I see all types of terrain also and this is a great tire. They wear really well too. I have these in a 35x12.5x18 with my leveling kit and love them.

My initial thought would be to save the $300 and get the AT. My only concern would be how the Toyo AT is in the snow. It might worth be creating another post and asking about the Toyo AT snow traction.
If you get positive responses, go that route.

I don't think you'd be disappointed in many choices, seeing you don't need the M/T, stick with an A/T. My choice is GY Wrangler Silent Armor, which I see meeting your needs very well, but the same can be said about the BFG's, Nitto TG's, Toyo A/T's to mention a few popular choices. All look great and priced about the same. The M/T tires from various manufacturer's look too cool I know, but with factoring in the rest aren't worth the comprimises.
