Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S GO51

Time to replace the tires on my 2002. I went back with the BFG Long Trails last time and they lasted pretty well. Just looking at other options. Anyone else try these? I read the reviews on TireRack, pretty well received over all.

I've got a friend who swears by Yokohama's all terrains. I'd expect their HT version to do well also.

I run the 315-70-17 HTS-501 on my '04 Supercrew 4x4. I have approximately 30,000 miles on them and they still have what I would say is 40% tread remaining. They are very quiet, handle well on dry and wet roadways, and were very easy to balance. I switch to a 315-70-17 BFG TA KO on another style wheel in the Winter so I can not vouch for their snow performance.
When this set is worn out, I will definately be getting another set of them.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE HTS-501 YOKO...

On a second note, I have a set of Yokohoma ATS's on the Ranger I use as a daily driver, and even with 250# of weight in the rear of this vehicle, the
ATS's SUCK BIG TIME IN THE SNOW !!!

Thanks, Marc. I just moved to Knoxville from Tampa, so no snow experiance with these tires either. From what i have heard from the locals, no snow really sticks here, just some ice on occasion. How do you feel the tires handle in corners? Only complaint i have heard about these tires is that the sidewalls are soft. I know, it's a truck, not a sports car, just like a little responsive-ness in cornering.

I have a set of the G051's in P275/65R18 and they have been great tires in all respects. I've heard that the H/T's give a lack-luster performance in snow but we really haven't had any snow that "stuck" in my part of Oklahoma...yet.

I think these tires are the best kept secret in years for light duty truck/SUV. If you can get over the odd looking tread pattern I think you'll end up loving these tires.

I run the Yokahama A/T - S on my truck 275/65/18's. These are my winter tires mounted on steel rims. They actually work really good in the snow and on ice.

Planning on gettting BFG's All Terrain's for the summer 305/65/18's

Sounds like your good to go weather wise, with very little snow in your area.
As for any sidewall issues, I have no complaints. My 315-70-17's are mounted on a 17"x9" aftermarket rims. I run the West Virginia Turnpike which is a very steep and often twisted roadway with some "50 MPH" precautionary curves on it, at speeds that some would think is crazy for a leveled 4x4 (80+mph), and have been very comfortable with the trucks handling on these tires. They have worn very evenly and are holding up great. Like I previously stated, " I will purchase another set when the present ones are worn out".

Thanks guys. Sounds like i am leaning towards these tires. Bald tires in rain is no fun in a pickup...
