2.5" Level / 35" Tire / 18" Wheel combo on 08 FX4?

Hi all, new guy here. First post and a little shy, but gotta start somewhere. Love this site and I can't seem to *not* spend 8 hours a day on it. Alot of very useful info!!

Just got an 08 FX4 last month. Love it to death! Current mods (just last week!) are dual Magnas / KNCAI / Rhino and Access. Plan to get the 2.5" AS lift put on.

Question:

I wanna get Toyo MT(or Pro Comp XT) 35s on either Incubus or Procomp 18s

I did ALOT of reading and I think this is feasible, but I have an 08 and most of the discussion was on 04-06s. I really want the 35s but need to know what I'm getting into...........

Will this combo work w/o alot of rubbing assuming I get the lift done?

thx in advance from the n00b!!!

Unless the wheels are IDENTICAL to stock specs, you are better off either staying with a 33 inch tire, or using the stock wheels with the 35s. And I will give the reccomendation of BFG Mud Terrain KM2s. They come in either size, and so far I love mine. The Toyos are a good choice too. ProComps...not so much.

^^^ I second what GTRider said. If going with a wider wheel, you will want to keep your tire height under 35 inches unless you don't mind some trimming and a little bit of rubbing. It's really hard to tell since no two trucks are exactly alike as some folks have no problems while others do. Also, if you think you might actually use your FX4 for offroading (yes, some people insist on having 4x4s but never use the low range), then you'll want to stay with 33s.

I agree. To fit 35x12.50's you will need to use the oem wheels or an 18x8 inch wheel with 5.5 inches of bs. I'd go with a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 to 6 inches of bs and some 33's.

I think you may be able to make it work with an 18x8 with 5" BS, but it would be pushing it. That's what I wanted so I could eventually run Camburg upper control arms (need 5" BS). May need to trim a tiny bit of plastic in the back of the fender, and back of the bumper valence. Problem is that it is hard to find an 18x8, most are 9" wide.

Stick to a 33" tire. I have a 2.5" AS kit with 33 Nitto Terra Grapplers on 18x9 XD Monsters. This will give you an idea as to what your truck would look like:

Guys, I really appreciate all the helpful advice!!! Looks like we've got it narrowed to going w/ the 33s on 18x9s. Now I just gotta decide between Toyo/Nitto/ProC. Whole nuther thread to readup on that one. Jeeze I can't get these mods done fast enough! Just got the huskys last night. HD heads and tails are coming friday!! (love the look on yours, hivoltagefx4-our trucks are very similar except for color)

Will that fit with any scraping on a 06 f150 with a 2" leveling kit?

Where did you find the Pro Comp 7005's? I heard they were all back ordered for a month or so.

Thanks Stevo
