My Truck project $22-23K enough?

Hey all,

New here, obviously. Anyway, I am selling my Cherokee and I am going to buy a F150. I was thinking about either between 05-07 Fx4. With todays market do you think I would be able to get what I'm about to list for 22-23K, or am I dreaming?

-Truck 05-07 Fx4

-20x10 Mazzi Hulks

-37" toyo MT, or 37" Nitto Muds

-6" FABtech lift w/ 2.5" Dirt logic Coilovers

-2" body lift to fit tires (havent decided on brand)

-4.88 gears (havent done any research on subject yet)

If you could post any other things im missing on my list with a price you might know of would be great :]

*edit* srry for the double topic, but when i clicked the submit button the site froze, or something so i double clicked it. MOD delete one of the topics please, thank you.

ok. with a fabtech w/ dirtlogic coilovers you don't need a body lift. just crank the coil overs 2" and get the 8" of lift required for 37's.

gears=$1500
wheels/tires= $2700
lift=$2700
=roughly $6900

22k-$6900=$15,100. you will end up with a base fx4 05 would be my guess. maybe not have not looked at what a used f150 is going for lately.

another options:
1) tuner (will fix speedometer, custom tuning will gain you some HP as well)
thats the only thing i would say is a "must" IMO. you don't need it but you will be VERY pleased with it.
tuners: VMP and Troyer use sct xcal 2 and 3s. PHP has the gryphon (recased edge)
i have the VMP tuning and its amazing. dad has the gryphon on his f150 and he likes it. both were amazing improvements over stock. sister has a stock edge on her f150 and you can tell a huge difference with the PHP tunes than stock edge tunes. both of their trucks are 5.4l supercrews w/ same mods (even same colors) its really a night and day difference b/w the two sets of tunes

Anythings possible but i did the math, added up all them upgrades u want and about the average price of them all, your looking about close to 8 grand for the rims, tires, lift and gears, not to mention the money for install, you would have to get the truck at a darn good deal, i got my 2004 f150, it was a plain jane nothing done to it, and that was 17 grand out the door

Thanks for the very informative response! I will def look into having the truck tuned!

This is exactly why I'm looking into having this setup done now, while trucks are next to nothing in price.

I have a friend who is a general manager at a dealership, so getting a deal is a no problem. He offered me a 03 QC F150 return for 8K, so I am sure an 05-07 would be not much more maybe 17K.

Which gears would any of you guys suggest going with?

I have seen a few F-150's on Craigslist, Autotrader, and Ebay that already have all that stuff for around 23K. You just gotta look. One was actually just posted on here the other day. Don't remember what thread though.

nobody makes a 2" body lift for these trucks, only 3". I have seen lifted F-150's for low 20's on several occasions!

I'm sure there out there a lot of people are selling cause they cant afford them, but me personally would rather get one stock then fix up how i want it instead of what someone else did

you can save a ton of money buying a lifted one already, if it's been taken care of, switching rims and tires, or swapping in coilovers, will save tons of money and headaches. i'm selling mine, i can afford, i just need a new work truck, pornstar just sold his 04 fx4, rize, 37's on 20's for 17g's, if you wanna be cheap or got a budget buying a lifted one already is the cheapest route. for 22-23 your dreaming, 25-30 grand to do all those mods with the cost of a truck coffee:
