What tire should I get?

Hey guys I tired of the cheap-O loud mud tires that came on my truck and will be swaping them out soon. I've found some different tires to choose from and want to see if anyone has had any experences with them (good/bad). I might end up getting 285s just for a better look also. I like to look of a more square sidwall and wider tread pattern, and need an AT tread pattern that will be quiet on the highway and last good. I'm on a budget and want the best tire for the money.

I can get Yokohama Geolander A/T-S 285/70/17 for $700 installed.

http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/geolandar_ats.aspx

The Bridgsone Dueler-REVO or standard AT (can't remember) in a 265. $650 installed.

http://www.bridgestonetire.com/tires...productID=2013

Firestone Destination A/T maybe?

Toyo Open country in 285, seems overpriced $850 installed

http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires/tires...=lgt-suv-truck

Or the Cooper Discovory

http://www.coopertires.com/html/prod...discoverer_atr

The guy at the shop really liked the Yokohamas, but I haven't heard many reviews on them and they looked nice. I here good things about the Bridgestones also.

Any input is welcome. I will be shopping around for more/better prices also.
Thanks

personally would suggest Toyo or cooper. Only because I have dealt with these plenty, and have limited experience or NONE with the other. G'luck !

Out of the choices you listed, the Toyo's and Bridgestones are excellent choices.

Thumbs up yoko ats

I sell the yoko ats everyday. I dist. yoko, bridge, GY, TOYO, Maxxis, Kumho, and other imports. Yokohama is a premier name in all tires now. I haven't heard one complaint from the ATS; in fact most people say they will stay with the same tire next time. It is probably one of, if not the fastest moving AT we sell. It is pretty close to the TOYO. I'm almost positive thats what I'm going with on my FX4.

Thanks guys, I really liked the look of the Yokohamas, but can't go wrong with the Bridgestones I figure.(now with 35% off) I hope I can swing it $$$ before that runs out!! We'll see, I was going to wait until my tire wear out, but maybe I could put em on Craigslist.

Anyone have some pics of 285s on FX4 wheels on a older Screw? I figured they will fit, maybe with a little T-Bar adjustment.

I have the Toyo Open Country A/T's in a 285 and love them. They're quiet, wearing great, look amazing on the truck and do a great job off the road too. Tons of people have them up here in the north, but most people stick with the skinnier ones for some reason. The 285's are perfect for our trucks at stock height.

Firwstone Destinations are excellent tires. They're SUPER quiet, wear well, and handle well.
I have pics in my gallery.

I just priced the Bridgestone Revo's for the 35% off thing. Its a BS promotional deal. I got a price on them, and then asked about the 35% off deal and he said it was included already?

P285/70/17 $696.69 good price but they won't put them on my truck because it says LT in the doorjam. Againts company policey, I know my uncles truck has P 265s on it and its an 02 FX4 Supercab.

LT285/70/17 $858.78

LT267/70/17 $767.73

Do I need or have to have LT tires? I haul an ATV and maybe a small river boat or utilty trailer. Are Screws heavier and needing a heavier tire.

I would get th destinations. Best tire out of all of those you mentioned. If you want to check, go to tire rack and compare.

Sounds like the guy is putting the screws to ya. I just did the deal today and the tires were quoted at $210.99 ea and then they took the 35% off($295.40) After all taxes, labor, lifetime bal and rotation and all it was $639.88. I figure after I sell my wheels and tires I have sitting in the garage it will have paid for three of the new tires. Bottom line is I am very happy now.

X2---What he said! I have had the Destination AT's for a year now ---they are indeed quiet, handle the snow pretty well, have shown very little wear, and, when i go off road they do just fine.

I found this review that may be helpful to you. Again, I like the Destination AT's---the price was right and the tires have performed very nicely for me over the past year.
