i ran 305/65/17 before i leveled my truck. do not buy the "leveling kits" for these trucks. all you have to do is turn the torsion bar bolts on it now to level it, then go for an alignment. its what i did and many others on the site! hope that helped!

How much do you need to turn these bolts? ABOUT HOW MUCH LIFT IN THE FRONT CAN YOU EXPECT

really? your 285s rub? when i ran 285s i had no problems and still have none with 305s which are an inch wider than the 285s. make sure you turn each side equally, one of my bolts have a few threads left til they would be maxed, i didnt want to do that with mine though. it only took about an inch to level mine out. they all come different from factory. a few turns on each side should level it up.
you will see one side has more threads left than the other, this is because of the different weight on each side of the truck, gas tank etc etc...just dont try to make both the bolts even.

What kind of back spacing would I need with these wheels I would like my tires to set out of the fenderwells just a little for that tough look.

Right. For the look you want, you need a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing. You will have to trim some plastick off the front bumper's lower valance for clearance.
