Tire pressure question

I bought Nitto Terra Grapplers 275 70 18 for my 2005 FX4 Supercrew. The person that installed them wasn't sure about what tire pressure to use. He said he could put anywhere from 35 to 80 PSI according to the sidewall. He settled on 45 PSI. Is this good or should I have him put more or less? I'm more worried about wear than ride. I want them to last as long as possible.

BTW...I love the way they look on my truck with no leveling kit....

Thanks,
Jeff

I would bump them up a little to about 50. That will give you all the weight carrying capacity you will need for anything the truck is rated to. If you do any heavy towing, you could bump them even a little further, not for weight carrying, but to stiffen the sidewall further.

If those had a max of 65, 45 would be about right, but they have a max of 80.

I've always had good luck with 40 psi in truck tires.
