I ran 305 70R 16 BFG MTs on my stock 16 in rim. It is 7 inches wide. I ran them for over 2 years. I drag race, jump the truck and play off road. I adjusted the air pressure to leave a flat foot print on the road. It turned out to be 25 psi. You have to understand that such a low pressure will heat up the sidewall more than it would normally do but the tires held up to my abuse. If you are willing to take the risk purchase the tires and find a shop that will mount them. I realize that tire companies have to make policies that protect the dumbest moron out there so I understand their refusal.

I just had 35x12.50 KM2's installed on my stock 17's; haven't had any problems yet; just have to keep the air down to prevent wearing out the crown of the tread which could happen on the thinner rim. I run 35 psi in mine and the tread wear fairly even.
