Will be throwing back on my summer wheels come spring and I want to nail down some brake pads that dont dust so much, to replace my factory dusters.

I have the high end NAPA Ceramix, minimal dust and very quiet, I think I go lucky with quiet ceramix, and a lot of the guys on this board sear by Carquest blues.

I have 70,000 miles on my Wagner ThermoQuiets. They have been great and I'll put on another set in about 30,000 more. I put them on when my truck had 11,000 miles, to eliminate the dust problem.

The CarQuest Blues are good, too.

Are the thermoquiets ceramic ? What brakes are the ones that are hard on the rotors?

I just installed my wagner thermoquiets 2 weeks ago f&r. No problems so far. They seem like really good pads and it doesn't look like they're putting out any brake dust.

Silk that good to hear buddy, I looked at my front rims today coming outta lowes. They are blistered with brake dust again, its only been 100 miles. I cant stand the OEM brake setup on our trucks, at least they do there job but ruin expensive wheels. I am going to have to park the F150 and drive the tercel untill I can get some thermoquiets on. Thanks for the post silk.

Some of the ceramics have a rep for eating up rotors. The ThermoQuiets and the CarQuest Blues are high quality semi-metallic. The factory pads are poor quality semi-metallic.

I put a set of the ceramics from Auto Zone (I think they were Duralast Gold) on my wife's accord and they have a lifetime warranty; not only against defects but wear. The manager said if they ever wear out, bring them in and they'll give me a new set.

Where can you get the wagner thermoquiets?
And would I need to have the rotors turned? I only have about 23,000 miles on the truck.
Sure would hate to turn them so soon or doesnt it matter.

I bought my Wagners at a local parts store. Fronts were $48 and rears were $43. Unless the rotors have some bad grooves, I never turn them.

When i went to change my pads i didnt want to do it again for a long time..
I found a cross-drilled&slotted rotor/ceramic pad setup on ebay for i think around 300. The rotors really make a difference in stopping power and the pads are much better as far as dust goes. I have people ask me how i keep my wheels soooo clean...
just my .02
