Pitbull Tires

I was reading the March issue of Petersen's 4wheel & Off-road magazine and they had a big write-up about Pitbull tires. Are any of y'all running any of these, specifically the Growlers, on a DD? What kind of mileage would I be looking at out of a set of 33x12.50x17's?

I wouldn't put a bias ply tire on a daily driver.

That answered my question, I didn't realize that they were bias ply.

agree 100%

The pitbull tire is a GREAT off road tire. But I would NEVER recommend it for a daily driver. Every morning you will have flat spots. Always fun have "lumps" in the tires. It goes away after a few miles. Handling isn't all there, due to Bias ply. They do have good sipes in them. They are loud on road, much like a loud mud terrain. They say all terrain, but definately are a mud terrain. Do great off road. I just wouldn't want em on my daily driver...

Thanks guys, you have to admit though the Growlers are damn good looking tires. To bad they don't make a radial. Then again why doesn't Nitto make the Mud Grapler in radial, I would sure enough buy 'em!

Definately ! Growlers are awesome tires ! The rocker is one of my favorite tires. once my Super Swamper wear down I am going for the 39.5" rockers. Nothing but great reviews (off road only rigs)

Nitto Mug Grapplers are a radial tires, just so ya know ! They are radial, not bias ply tires. very aggressive, awesome tires. They are loud on the street, and wear fast (and cost a pretty penny) but all around awesome tires. Again, loud on road, and will wear fast. Looking at 30k miles or so. Hope this helps ya some.

If the Nitto MG's are a radial it dagum sure fooled me. My buddy had a set of 35x12.50x20 on his 3500 Cummins SRW 4x4 and got about 15,000 out of them. To bad they're so short lived. Toyo MT it is.

Ya, that big of a truck would wear em down mighty quick. Couple people with F150's are getting 30k out of them, but gotta keep rotating them and what not.

Im eventually gonna be running a 44x19.5x16.5 Pitbull Rockers on my truck.

its going in the shop Saturday for the 1 Ton project, For now im gonna be Runnin 40x17x16.5 Ground Hawgs

And for a quick review Dirt_bound has Nitto Mud Graps well whats left of them. He got less than 25k out of his 37's and its a 4.6 Regular Cab STX so not the heaviest truck.

My dad got 13.5 Out of his set and i rotated them every 3k miles. It was on an 05 Dodge Power Wagon.

The pitbulls have gotten a few reviews in the 30k range but mostly its 20-25k.
