You can mount them on an 8 to a 10 inch wide wheel. Several members have even run them on the oem 7.5 inch wide wheels with no problems.

ok i made my wheel choice and went with ATX Chambers in a 17x9 now the next step is ordering a tire size i pretty much had it narrowed down to a LT315x70R17 in a procomp xtreme MT but i also see that a 35x12.5R17 has pretty much the same specs and a couple places have them priced the same. If I was going to spend the exact same on the tire which one of these choices would be better to go with

They are the same size. One company is just sizing them using the metric system and the other is using the floatation sizing system.
What kind of lift are you running and what kinda truck do you have?

2008 Screw with a 3 inch front and rear lift. i was looking on procomps website and they offer four authorized retailers directly on their site and 2 of them have the lt315/70r17 but not the 35x12.5r17 and the other 2 have the 35x12.5r17 but not the lt315/70r15

i also noticed when you looked directly at procomps tire catalog that they dont even show a 35x12.5r17 in the extreme MTs

You are gonna need more lift to fit that combo.
