superduty 18" contitrac tr tires on f150?
Is anyone running the Continental ContiTrac TR tires 275 70/18 (superduty oem) on their truck? I just picked up a used set w/only 6K miles for a great price to replace the 275 70/18 BFG Rugged Trails that I currently have (btw, they are junk and have worn to the tread wear indicators after only 25K miles) No wonder TireRack had them on sale a year ago for $122 a piece. Haven't mounted the new ones yet.

If you have a superduty with rugged trails you have the wrong tires. The 18in option from the factory only came with the conti's. If you have bfg rugged trails, they are P-metric, which means they are WAY OVER loaded. Never pur Pmetric tires on a vehicle that required a 10ply they wont hold the load safely.
But from my wholesale exp (8yrs) most people dont like the conti's they normally want something with a better look. Nitto dura graplers or general hts grabbers(consumer reports #1 lt tire this year) would be my choice.

The Rugged trails are not factory - they are in fact 275 70 18's purchased from Tire Rack about 10 months ago. I got rid of the factory 17" alloys for some take-off 18" chromes. Thanks for the replies all. BTW - The 275 70 18 are not the same tread patterns as the other conti tracs. If you check out Continental's web site, you'll see what I mean. That's why I was specifically asking about the superduty tires.
Again, all of the replies are appreciated.

[IMG][/IMG]That's a good eye, as that is exactly what was on the take-off rims when I bought them. Those little 60 series only stayed on it long enough for me to get my tire shipment from tire rack. If you look at the other pics, however, you can obviously see the 275 70 18 rugged trails mounted on the truck. My truck has been a work in progress since day one and has had many small evolutions - so there are a few older pics as it has come along.
