Whats with Pro Comp and ATX wheels in black all being on back order?

I was thinking about picking up a set of ATX Thugs or Pro Comp 7005s in black and they are on back order EVERYWHERE! Does anyone have and insight?

I would assume they are just popular and demand shot up recently. Not sure though. Sucks bud, sorry.

alot of wheels are on backorder. i tried to order me a set of eagle 064's in black and machined and they said they are on national backorder i asked when and she told me, it all depends, she did say they were not that popular. i also called my guy and he inquired about trying to get a set and he was told that they ain't in no hurry because they don't fit enough vehicles, he told me just to find another wheel. i'm sure is has something to do with the damn economy.

Pro comps are on back order for another 60-70 days I believe. 20 inch anyway, I believe the 18s are available. They are still getting built in good ol China!

All the distributors use the "back order" word but not the factory.

I called proComp Tire and Wheel (the factory) this week. It sounds like you might as well give up on the 7005 - at least for an f150. They said they are "evaluating" what wheels they will continue with, etc. Not their exact words - they were somewhat reluctant to comment in detail. But the gist was they can give no expected production date if ever made again at all.
I was only inquiring about 20's though - google "procomp tire and wheel" and call 'em.

That would be strange for Pro Comp to stop making the 7005, though. That's one of their more popular wheels.

I talked with Pro Comp regarding 18" 7005's and they said they had 30 sets in paint 23 were accounted for for orders, so I placed my order with off road toy store and I currently have a tracking # saying they should be here this tuesday.

I really hope that you're right because if you are then that means I should be one of the 23 that are already accounted for since I placed my order in November and that I should be getting them by next week as well.

I was told the 6x135 f150 bolt pattern is not as big a seller as other patterns that fit multiple vehicles. Makes sense.

I'm interested in this new wheel by FuelOffroad, but they said it's only avail in the more popular bolt patterns now -with the 6x135 coming in a couple months or so.

I've got the same issue with XD Series Badlands. Been on "backorder" since October. When you call Wheel Pro they do nnot know when they are getting more in. How can the US Distributor for the product not know this????

Something's up.
