Cool Tires??

I have 35/12.50/17 BF good's A/T on my F150. I went through them in about 2 years and now I need a tire that'll last a bit longer yet work well off-road. Conditions I would most probably be in are Hard-dirt/rocky(hill climbing), Snow, Rain, and Sand. Those conditions are in the order that I am in the most to least, first being the most.
Size-37/12.50/17 prefered or which ever fits.
Tires in mind.
KM2 BF goods
Toyo Open Country M/T
Pro-comp Xtreme A/T
A/T BF goods again

Any advice?

A mud terrain is not going to last longer than an all terrain...

I think your best bet is to stick with the BFG A/T's and rotate and check tire PSI "often". 2 years (30,000 miles I'm guessing) isn't much for mileage on the BFG's, even if you're really using them.

The BFG A/T's are a good tire offroad and they'll last a good amount when taken care of.

BFG muds are pretty much the absolute best blend of off-road and street performance. the next closest is the terra grappler, but it wont go where the BFG's will off-road

Xtreme All-Terrains are very capable off-road, but the rubber that Pro Comp uses is a softer compound and won't last you as long as either of the other 2 i mentioned

I agree the BFG ATs are probably best suited for your application.
You didn't say how many miles you got out of them in those 2 years.

Yeah, it's milage, not years that matters. It's pretty easy to get 60,000 miles out of the BFG AT KO's.

I'd go with the A/T KOs again. I'm gonna go with them when I can afford my wheels & tires. Expecting 50k+ miles with proper inflation and rotation.

I got only about 25,000 miles out of those tires, so I am kinda disappointed. It might have been from PSI however I doubt it. Yet I did do I more off-road the past year than other years I have gone. I must say I looking for a solid tire thats agressive and soild on the conditions that I had listed. My last resort would be the same tire, even thought they maybe the long-lasting ones.

BFG TA KO's will last way longer than 25k miles if you take care of them.

50k is pretty easy with these tires.

your running a 37" tire, which means you get less rotations per mile which means slower wear per rotation than a smaller tire.

The way i see it if you only got 25k out of them, you didnt do ANYTHING to keep them in good shape.

1. Proper PSI
2. Rotation every 3k miles
3. No burn out
4. Keep the shocks, and ball joints in good shape and replaced.

25k is unrealistic. Ive seen these tires last longer than 60k.

you need to practice maintaining a AT before you go to a MT if you are only gettin 25k out of the longest lasting AT then you will be wishing for 10k out of any set of MT's you have to take care of tires

I've got the 315x70x17's and can't get them to wear out. Over 32k miles and look like they can go 90k.

You guys got me convinced! I'm going with the BFG AT's when I upgrade to 35's.

Try the Cooper STT mud terrains or Toyo M/T's. Both great tires that will wear will. But probably not better than the BFG A/T. Your right foot must be as heavy as mine...
