tires to big?

i just bought **** Cepek DC-1 wheels 18/9 I want to go with 305/70/18 tires. My truck is not lifted as of yet........! I used the 2.5 levelers in the front and add a leaf in the rear, question is are those tires to big right now, will they rub in the front fender well??

Yes, they are basically a 35x12.50-18 tire. You will need more lift to fit those, or you can go down to a 33x12.50-18 or 325/60-18 (33x13.00) tire.

They will fit

but you may need a spacer behind your wheel depending on the backspacing on the wheels. I currently have 325-65-18's on stock 18's on my 05 screw. I had rubbing on the upper control arm so we made some 1/4" spacers in the machine shop here at the tech school and that took care of the problem. Bought the tires used, thats why I have 35's. Would not have bought that big if I have bought them new. They look great, though! You can see some quick pics I took in my gallery, not the best but they will show what they look like. Oh yeah, I have the 2" AS in front.

A spacer would only make his fitment problems worse.

Certainly not going to dispute you, Wandell, as you prolly know a lot more about his situation than me. I guess the difference in his situation and mine is the aftermarket wheels, huh?

RIght. He has a wide wheel with less backspacing so his rubbing problems will be on the outside portion of the wheelwells.

08-FX4, thought I would post some pics of my 05 on 35" Nittos. These are stocker wheels so, like Wandell said, you have a different situation. Anyway, I have the 2" AS with 325/65/18 Nitto Grapplers. Good luck with your tires!

You can fit most 35x12.50's using the OEM 20 inch wheels. Some people have reported rubbing on the ball joint itself with 12.50's with large sidewall lugs and 325/60-20's (35x13.00). Of course a 285/65-20 (35x11.50) will fit.
