centerbore and offset same for 4x4 and 4x2?

I have the cheap stamped steel wheels on my 98 F150 4x4. I want to upgrade to some factory aluminums. Are the hub bores the same? Are the offsets close enough to work, or maybe the same? I'm not running big tires; just stock 255/70-16

The only difference, at least that I can remember, is in 99 Ford changed the size of the lugs from 12mm to 14mm. I do remember that my 98 with alloys had lug nuts with a flat washer vs tapered seats. Not sure if the steel wheels had the same or not. BUt something to check. Offset and bore size should be the same.

Ok, good to know. I remember putting lightning wheels on my buddy's F150. His had the 12mm lugs, and we were concerned about the additional slop in the 14mm lightning holes being a problem. Turns out it isn't.

And both his truck, the lightning wheels, and my stamped steelies all have the flat seat with the washer. If I go aftermarket I don't mind conical seats and nuts, but I'm trying to find some attractive factory wheels first to save some cash.

Thanks for the help, svt
