33-35 in tire problems?

i am thinking about putting a 4 in lift or getting a leveling kit for my 04 supercrew but my dad wont let me because he thinks that the tires will make the ride so bad that i wont drive it? can someone please post what your opinion is on the bigger tires? and if you have had any problems thanks

Bigger tires are only going to ride as good as they are balanced and aligned. If you have crappy balancing done or a poor alignment, they are going to ride just as bad or worse than a smaller tire w/ the same issues.

You will have more road noise depending on what style or type of tire you go with. I've got 35" ProComp Extreme MT's and aside from the hum of the tires, they ride perfectly fine. Not rough or crummy at all. I keep them properly inflated and rotated and make sure that everything else is aligned and working properly, and they go just fine.

I have level kit with 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers (33 inch all terrain) And ride and drive is as good as new. Do not get too aggresive with tread and keep tire height reasonable and 2" level kit and you will be all right. Boyd

i have 305/60/18 terra grapplers, and my ride hasn't changed almost any.

the truck feels a bit stiffer, but i think it feels better. not uncomfortable at all.

i think it's probably because of the leveling kit as well, not the tires.

well i have a 2007 f150 supercrew xlt. i bought it new with the stock rims and 265/70/17 bfg all terrain's. i am running the 4" rancho suspenion lift with rancho rs5000 shocks all away around. i can honestly say that it rides better than stock, holds the road fine, no shimmy's or shakes. i take corners just fine, faster than one should i suppose. but i have absolutely no regrets lifting my truck. here's a pic for good measure, your dad is just looking out for ya, i do know some of the older trucks i have (lifted 80's cheyenne chevy's rode like lumber wagons) those days are a thing of the past. (truck is running a 4" lift 35x12.50's on 20x10's)

Only thing I can think of is that when you go with a wider tire the truck may pull to one side or another when you hit a bad surface area in the road, but this will occur even with a loow profile tire. Maybe it's only me who has this issue since Louisiana has pretty much the worse roads. lol

I would have to agree with everyone here. I have a 2008 FX4 Screw w/ 2.5" level kit and some 305/50/20's and it perfectly fine. I did notice a slight stiffness of the truck after I got the leveling kit installed but nothing dramatic! I would say lift it and dont look back sir. You wont regret it!
