A 285/65 is only 31.6 diameter, a 285/75 is 33.8 and a 285/70 which i am running is 32.7

A 285/65/18 is actually 32.6 diameter. Just added Toyo ATs to my truck this week in this size. The sticker label they put on them calls them a 33x11.5 tire. Here are some pics of mine.

yeah, as pylda said, 285/65/18 sizes are a "33" inch tire, not 31.6.

i haven't heard of anyone running a 285/75/18 tire though.

i'm sure other will chime in on that size.

only sizes i know fit on 2WD's (i have one as well) are: 285/65/18, 305/60/18, or 275/70/18( i believe that's the right size, correct me if i'm wrong)

i, personally went witht he 305, because it's the widest tire. the 285 is the second widest, and the 275 is the narrowest.

but, i believe that reverses height wise- the 275 is tallest, 285 is in the middle, and 305 is shortest. they're all "33" inch tires though

let other's chime in, hopefully they can help you more than me.

i believe 275/70/18 is the biggest you can go.

but i also think it will look kind of goofy because those tires are narrow.

but whatever you want to do.

i have really narrow tires on my old powerstroke, i think they look good on it, but not on our F-150's.

do your thing though man!

when it comes down to it, all those tires are like cm's away from each other.

they're all just about 33 inches, and i don't think you;ll be able to tell a difference with any of them height wise.

I'd go with 285/65-18's since you have a 4x2.

RJ was correct on what he said regarding these sizes. I shopped around for about a year with tons of research.

Correct me if im wrong isnt the first number on the tire 285 the height and the second the width. I have 275\65\18 on my 08 lariat My wifes exped has 265\70\17 and her tires are wider then mine are.

It is a ratio thing. Go to tirepackage.com. They have a tire calculator that will give your diameter and width of whatever size that you punch in.

Yeah, you are wrong. The first # is the width in millimeters, the second # is the aspect ratio; it's a percentage of the width, in this case 70% of 265, the third is your rim size.
