Here is what I just got.

I just installed a set of General Grabber HTS. Tirerack.com seems to rate them the highest for a highway tire.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...y.jsp?type=HAS

I can't really be a good judge yet, because I have about 10 miles on them, but it sure is fun having new shoes on the truck.

My first choice was the Toyo Open Country H/T, but I got a SMOKIN deal on the Generals.

The quietest tire i know of is the Michelin LTX/MS but you will 'pay' for them. You'l also get 60,000 miles out of them if taken care of right.

Think so? As far as rolling resis, wear, traction? I saw the general rated as #1, but I will keep trying for a better deal on the mich.

Yea my dads owned several sets of them over the years but had to stop getting them bc of the price for an 18in rim. One set of them lasted the entire 60,000 mile lease and still had 1/4 inch of tread lol

The size does restrict you some but there are still some good choices out there.

Although they are "P" rated instead of "LT" I've had a set of Yokohama Geolander HTS tires in 275/65/18 and they were excelllent tires. Very smooth, quiet, and stayed balanced using very little weight. Unless your hauling ridiculous weight with your truck these might fit the bill.
