My turn - finally got my new tires (with pics)!

First off - I want to say just how much the search feature works on this site. In the last few weeks I found everything I needed about what size tire will fit my stock truck, which tires work, which ones to avoid, and even where to get them.

I just picked up a set of 285/17 Firestone Destination M/Ts today and yes - they are running a buy three get one free sale for the month of March. I found the coupon on their website, printed it off and went from there.

I've been traveling for work so my truck is dirty - but here's how it looked this morning.

And here's how it looks now.

Yes - 285s will fit on a stock 2001 Super Crew - but there's not a lot of room for flexing. I'll be trimming some off the front pretty soon. Overall, my truck is now 2" taller than it was this morning.

Thanks again for all the help!

Wow what a difference I am still on the fence on tires I ordered my 2" AS leveling kit that will be here next week. Any feedback on how loud they are and what did they end up costing you.

Love the look of the tire, can't stand the white lettering on the sidewall. But that go's for any tire with white lettering...

Should have went blackwall out. I've been happy with my Firestone MT's so far.

Thanks for the comments - I think they look great and can't wait to test them in the mud.

Out the door was just under $1000 - including lifetime rotate/balance and roadhazzard.

As for the noise, I rode home (30 miles) with the windows up and radio off just to see how loud it was going to be and while I could hear them, they were not obnoxious. I'll leave for a 600 mile trip Monday morning and will have a good chance to see how loud they're going to be.

White letters out/black letters out, man that can be a can of worms - but I guess that's why we're all entitled to our opinion. Me and my Jeep buddies go round and round about this all the time, too. I'm almost 40 and have been in the white letters out camp since I was a kid.

Did you have any issues with rubbing under full flex? This is my hunting truck so it does see a fair amount of time off road.

It's amazing what a set of M/T can do to your truck! Nice!
