Tire pressure?

I bought new tires today. 265-65-18 BFG A/T KO. Asked the guy what to keep the pressure at and he said 35psi. I've never owned E rated tires before but the max pressure is 80psi. I know they shouldn't be at 80 but is 35 too low? Also, how do I get the letters white, they are a blue color right now?

Run them at 50. 35 is definitely too low. If the vehicle had a TPMS and LR E tires with a max of 80 from the factory, the TPMS would be set to 46. 50 should handle anything you want to do up to the rated limits of your truck. If towing a heavy load, you may want to bump it up a bit, for sidewall support more than anything else.

Just some more info. Those tires are rated at 3300lbs at 80 psi. At 40, that at best would be about 1650 lbs per tire. Your trucks rear axle is rated at 4000lbs, so even at 40, your tires would be underinflated.
