Biggest tire on 22" rim

Does anyone know the biggest tire I can get away with on a 22" rim with a 02 2wd f150? I currently am running 285/45/22 and want to go to a 305/45/22. Discount is telling me no way! Anyone have any input?

Depends on the wheel specs and the truck.
