front brake assembly question?

Should the front brake caliper be a little loose I hear a little rattle in the front of the truck. I pulled the rim off and noticed that the caliper shakes a little. I am not sure if that is normal.

thanks for the replies.

what do you mean by you can shake the caliper a little bit? it shouldnt move at all except in and out when the pedal is pushed and released. are the sliding pins lubed?
this should be posted in the brake section.

The pads might be a little loose depending on the quality control of the manufacturer but the caliper is meant to be mounted tight. It may have a little lateral movement on the pins but it will not rattle.

*UPDATE*

After some investigating I found the the caliper is making the noise. When I hit the brakes over very small quick tight bumps the rattle stops. when driving over the same bumps with out riding the brakes I hear the rattle.

My question is????? do the slider pins wear out over time???? the caliper seems to be a little more loose than it should be.

thanks for the replies
