18mm or 30mm Offset for 4x4 with 2.5 AS

Going to order the wheels on Monday and wanted to verify before I ordered since I got a little conflicting information from the shop.

Just installing the 2.5" AS Level on '07 4x4 SCREW

I am going to try and fit either the toyo 35x12.5x20 MT or BFG 325/60/20 KM2s (undecided right now toyos are like $115 cheaper EACH)

getting the XD hoss and they have 3 setups for 20"

I thought it was recommended to get the 18mm OS with the 5.71" BS

However the one of the shops I went to said without a real lift the 30mm OS with 6.81 BS would have a better chance of fitting?

I can swap to a 33" tire if the 35s rub too much but not able to swap the wheel so I want to get it right.

I may be wrong but tires with large side lugs you had better stick as close to oem backspace as you can. The 5.71" bs might rub a little depending on how wide of a rim but I don't think the 6.8" bs will begin to work with either of those tires.

My BFG K/O's don't have an aggessive sidewall but it's close to rubbing with a 20x9 rim with 5.9 bs.

Thanks That's what I thought.. 18mm with 5.71 Its a 20x9 wheel.

I think guy at the shop was trying to push the 30mm because they did not have any stock on the 18mm / 5.71 which would have sucked since I am sure they would have been like.. humm guess we were wrong it wont fit but too bad since it's a custom order wheel guess your stuck with it.

I honestly don't think you are gonna fit 35's with either backspacing.

I think that with a leveling kit, you need to use OEM wheels or wheels to OEM specs.

Right. PawPaw runs 35x12.50's using an 8 inch wheel with 5.5 inches of backspacing. He tried a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 inches of bs and had major rubbing.

I want pics when you do this... i've been looking at doing these wheels with 35s for a long time now but have been unsure as to the amount of rubbing they will cause.

get some pics and lemme know about the rubbing.

Blackout Fx4 and myself have 2.5as leveling and 22x9.5 with 34.8 grapplers. He is running 18mm offset and only rubs rear outer fender lip in revers. I on the other hand have the 30mm offset with the same tire....not yet on the truck. But I did test fit a 22x9.5 with 38mm offset and a 325/50/22 34.8 grappler before I was leveled all was good as for spacing not rubbing on the backside.

Well there is a -12mm Offset with 4.53" backspacing available too???

It seems there are a few people doing 35s with the level here its just finding the magic combination..

4.53 inches of backspacing will guarantee that you won't be able to fit 35's.

I guess I am going to go with the 18/5.71 and hope for the best. Thanks for answering all the simple questions.
