Has anyone ever sand and paint their 20" OEM rims?
I have a set of 20" OEM's (aluminum) originals off my FX4 sitting and waiting for me to work on them.
I would like to attempt to sand and paint them.
I don't wanna mess them up, but i would like to give it a try, it would cost over $500 to get a shop to do it.
Now they have some light scratches, and some salt corrosion around where the weights where, but still in decent shape over all.
I would like to paint only the OEM silver painted areas, and paint that black.
And the rest (rim/lip and spokes) leave it, just sand that area somehow, and clear coat everything when done.
Has anyone have done this?
Tips and pics would be appreciated
Cheers

Here is his album with pictures of his truck. I think he ended painting his DSG to match his truck.
