The perfect tire for leveled 04-08's?

I was doing some research looking for a good tire to go on my '05 Screw with a 2.5" AS kit. I currently have 285/65-18 BFG AT's.

In my searches, I found a size that I didn't even know anyone manufactured, the 285/75-18. It is a 35x11.50. Toyo makes their AT and MT in it, and I was looking at AT's.

Due to the 285 width, they shouldn't rub at all correct? But they would give the height that I am looking for with no issues on the bumper, fenders, or a-arms?

Care to comment Wandell?

I can get a set of 4 of the AT's shipped to my door for roughly $1100.

IMO the perfect wheel for a leveled truck on 18's would be the BFG AT 305/65/18. it looks damn good, very practical, and no rubbing.

Yes, they look very good, I have seen a truck in person with them on the stock 18's and they are quite the lookers. I would like the extra width, but for $200-$300 per set less and tires that are 1" taller, the Toyo's don't sound like a bad option for me.

I can't see myself spending $1400 on a set of BFG's (which I love, and currently have) when I can get some great Toyo's for $1100.

Does anybody run any of these (285/75-18)? Pics?

That size should fit fine. Personally, I like the looks of the 305/65-18 BFG when using the OEM wheels. Personally, I prefer a 325/60-18 (33x13.00) or a 305/60-18 (33x12.50) on a 18x9 inch aftermarket wheel.

I do want to keep my stock wheels though - they look good to me, and I don't have the $$$ for new wheels anyway haha.

Found them for $855 shipped for the set now!!!...looking more and more like I have found my tires!

Treadepot rocks btw!

Oh yeah, if money was not a factor that would definitely be a no-brainer for me, I love the BFG AT's.

Just the fact of $830 vs. $1,214 for a 35x11.50 Toyo AT vs. a 34x12.50 BFG AT...I am in college right now and $400 is $400.

Sweet truck btw.

Toyo OC AT 285/75/18

I currently run the Toyo OC AT 285/75/18 on FX4 wheels with Bilstein 2" leveling shocks. No trimming needed. No rubbing in turns, bumps, or reverse. There's plenty of room left in the wheel wells. Honestly, I think they'd have fit with 0"-1" of lift. They're great. I paid $255 a tire locally, balanced & installed w/ warranty.

I've had both BFG AT's and Toyo AT's. They're both great, top of the line tires.
The Toyo's are beyond excellent in rain, snow, and ice. Good in dirt. OK in mud, but have no road noise.

The Toyo's have a stronger sidewall and more plys to give it a higher load rating if that matters to you. If I had to choose one right now, I'd personally go with the Toyo's because they have better road manners. Whichever way you go, they're both great tires. I can't complain about either set I've had.

I thought I read a while back you could only fit 305's on stocker 18's and have no rubbing with a 4x4 set-up... I hope I'm wrong, I want that look on my 07' SCREW 4x2

Yeah, stock is 265 wide. Mine are 285's. 5oh's are 305's. At 325, they start rubbing the upper A arm.

I already have those, and they look tiny, and they are. Took a tape measure to them and they came in at 31.3-4" tall. They are worn some, but they aren't bad right now.

I had 315/70/17 BFG AT KO's and due to a major alignment problem caused by the previous owner, they were destroyed in less than 10k miles.

I now have the 315/70/17 ProComp Extreme MT's and love them. Sacrificing some tread life I'm sure and they are noisier than the AT's, but I spend a lot of time offroad with my job and getting to remote areas with them and they shine way above the AT KO's in that department, so for that reason I went with the Extreme MT's.
