rim options

Thinking about getting a new set of rims to help offset the cost of new tires.

Finding 35's for my stock 17's seem to be kind of pricey but when I see them for smaller rims they're cheaper. I am not really dead set on going to a smaller rim I would rather get a better look overall so changing the rims might not make the tires cheaper in the long run but as long as it looks better thats fine by me.

Anyways here is the truck as it sits now, so any rim ideas would be great and if someone has pics of a similar truck with nice rims that would be awesome.

Stick with the rims you have, they're nice. Plus the money you save by keeping them will allow you to buy better tires.
Just my opinion.

Personally, I think the best looking combo on a stock 4x4 is a 305/70-16 (33x12.50) on a 16x10 inch wheel with 4.5 inches of bs. However, if you are just looking to save money, you will not buy a new set of 16 inch wheels and tires cheaper than just a set of 17 inch tires.

I know I wont be saving money by getting a new set of rims and tires. But I dont want to buy 2 sets of tires for 2 different rim sizes so upgrading now will save me money in the long run.

If you can afford bigger rims and tires, get them. If not, then wait.

I can, and I am looking for options.

It seems its hard to find a decent set of rims for a good price in this 5 bolt pattern.

125.00

147.00(come in chrome (197)

123.00

Here are some rims don't know what your are looking for but they are 17's and they are at discounttiredirect.com. Been posting the same rims becasue people are looking for this size in 5x135. So good luck. They have free shipping with $50 dollars off and if you push they will throw in free locking lugs.

How much are you looking to spend on tires?

My Hankook 315/70R17 DynaPro MTs are about 230 each.

peter41,

Here's my set-up, 17x9 DC1's and 265/70/17 BFG TA KO's, they ran me about $2300, but I'm in Canada where things cost an arm and a leg.

Man I had the same issue as you, actually the same 17" factory rims too. I went down to 16's with the setup wendell said 305's on 16x10's with 4.5 bs. I don't regret going to a smaller rim cause the tires are so much cheaper and I love the look. In case your wanting to know it cost around $1600 for 16x10 DC1 Chrome and 305/70-16 Nitto Terra Grapplers. Heres a pic of mine. Good luck with your truck
