40x14.50x20 Mud grapplers on stock gears

My buddy has a 98 150 running 40x15.50x20 Mud grapplers with stock gears and pretty much stock everything!!! i personally think thats stupid because i bet his transmission will go out any day now.... any other opinion on this?

wow... investing money in gears would not be a bad idea. How long has he had them on there?

Any pictures at all????

hes putting too much stress on the whole powertrain of his truck.

Its going to fall apart, in what order who knows, I am voting tranny first. Even if he regears I would think he would still have a hard time with his axle and cv joints.

Insane to run 40's on a 150 unless its completely built for it.

how did he manage 40's

members hear report rubbing with 38x14.5's

So either he went with the 6" suspension lift 3" body lift, and aftermarket torsion keys, and cut some of the bumper and possibly the fender.

OR

He got a POS whiplash suspension, or full throttle... at least full throttle stands by their products.

sorry everyone but i dont have any pics of it. hes had them on there about 3 weeks but before that he had 37x14.50 swampers so hes been putting alot of stress on his powertrain for about 2 years or so

he has a 6 inch suspension 3" body cranked torsion and bigger block in back

Wow thats insane i would never think about doing that.... Ive had my 37s on stock gears now for about 3 weeks but the truck also hasnt been anywhere since they have been put on . The only time they will be driving on stock gears is too the shop to get my gears installed which is about 15 miles..
