This maybe a bit off topic but I think it will be helpful

I've got 295/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my Chevy and on my friends dodge, we both came from BFG Mud Terrains. I think they are good tires IF you don't off road. They are awful in the mud (and I mean real mud, deep stuff trying to drag a trailer though, hub deep, frame dragging, nasty mud), marginal in the sand (I have to use 4wd more then I used to with the stock tires as the full locking rear axle cause more axle hope then before, I don't know if your 06 has a full locker in the rear but if it does i'd look at the BFG ATs or MTs). I can say that they work great in the rain and dry pavement. They also work good when towing heavier loads (5,000 to 6,500 lbs), there is very little flex and sway. The Terra Grapplers do last a long time, I've got about 20K miles on these and I'd say they will last me about 75K total miles with good rotation. For the money they are a great parking lot tire, that meaning if you drive on the highway and don't venture off road you'll be fine and see no disappointment. There is more highway noise then stock tires but not as much as a mud terrain. The Nitto's also ride well when compared to the BFG Mud Terrains I had before.

I can tell you I won't be buying them (I paid 145 a tire shipped to my door for mine). I sped about 75 to 80% of my time on a 64 mile a day commute, 15% on jobsites and 5 to 10% towing between 5K and 6,500 lbs. I'll probably switch to the BF Goodrich ATs. While they are more spendy they seem to be a better overall value.

Well thanks alot for the info, very very helpful to me. While I dont do any offroading to amount to anything, i do have a 50 mile one way trip to work each day. Do your tires seem real heavy? Im worried about the weight issue and fitment of them, I know the 285's will fit fine but the 295's look so much fuller. I dont like the "crammed" in the fender look I like some fenderwell left. Id love to see some pics before I purchase them. Ive also considered the BFG AT'S but at nearly $200 more for the set its pushing my budget at the moment. Ive had BFG'S before and loved them in everything BUT rain, hydroplane was all they was good for. But all in all id buy them again.
