Wheel spacer help 97 f150

I have a 1997 f150 lariat 2wd. Lug pattern 5/135. I installed a front spindle lift, with blocks in the rear, and now the front tires stick out further than the rear tires. About 3.5" difference, or 1.75" per spacer. I talked to the guy at wheeladapter.com and he said they will not work unless they make a special kind. He says the factory lugs and wheels are flat with a washer lug nut and will cost $190 for two rear wheel spacers.

My question is, Is this guy correct about being special made? Does anybody have any kind of experience or advise with wheel spacers on a 1997 f150? Is wheeladapter.com a reliable place to buy? He says for me to order, transfer money into his paypal account with the specs. Not sure if hes ripping me off and telling me BS to raise the price. Any help will work.

Please let me know,
Thanks,
~Ryguy1188

Well yeah because you are going for an extremely large spacer. You can't put almost 2" of spacing on the lugs because they will break and there won't be enough thread for the nuts. What they are going to make for you is a spacer with another set of lugs on it. Any way you look at it, pushing the tires out 2" with a spacer is dangerous.

Well I say spacer but Its more like a wheel adapter. It has the new lugs on them. The front tires stick out so much further than the rear I dont want it to look goofy. I'm just not sure if the guy is ripping me off by saying he has to make it specially for my truck. Have you heard of modifying a wheel adapter to allow different lug nuts?

Yeah I see what you are saying $190 seems a little steep. I found some here for $57.25 each. http://adaptitusa.com/
