Question Backspace and Offset

Can someone explain to me about backspace and offset. In particular, I have a 2007 FX4. One wheel has a 5" backspace and 6mm offset. The other wheel has a 6.25 backspace and 19mm offset. If the truck has a 2" leveling kit in front and running 33" tires, which one will set better in the wheelwells without rubbing either the inside or outside?

The backspace is the inside distance between the inner rim and the mounting flange. Your fx4 rim (I have an 08) should be 6" backspace (just measured mine last night). An after market rim 9" wide with a +18mm offset is listed as 5.7" backspace with the xd series wheels. If your looking for the wheel well flush look these rims with a 12.5-13" wide tire should give you that. There are several guys on here that are running that setup with 2-2.5 leveling blocks and they look awesome. Check the suspension section to get some ideas. Hope this helps.

Question Offset

Thanks men. While these sizes will work with an 18"x9" wheel, I shouldn't have rubbing issues with either one, is that what you are saying?

RIght. As long as you go with a 33x12.50-18 or 325/60-18 (33x13.00) you should be fine.
