Is $300/tire the average for 20's?

I've been trying to price out my wheel/tire combo and just about everywhere I've looked, 305/55 r20's run ~$300 a piece. I'm leaning towards the terragrapplers since my truck sees 99% road use. if there's another good tire out there that runs cheaper than that, could you guys recommend it? thanks.
