35/13.50/20's or 325/60/20's

Time for new tires... Trucks got a 2.5" AS level kit and 3" AS rear blocks.

Looking at either the Mickey Thompson ATZ in a 35/12.50/20 or 35/13.50/20

Or also looking at BFG AT's in a 285/65/20 or 325/60/20

My question is... Has anyone out there run a 35 inch tall but 13 inch wide tire on their truck with a leveling kit? I also am keeping the factory wheels.

Truck had 275/55/20's changed those out for 275/65/20's but want some thing both taller and wider would be nice too...

Also what's your opnion... BFG or Mickeys? Have read good about both.

I'm in the same boat. I've got a 2.5" AS kit up front and 3" AS blocks in the rear. Currently I have 33" Terra Grapps on my factory 20's but was looking at getting 35's and keeping my factory wheels. When I looked at the current spacing between the inside of the tire and the upper control arm, I only have about an inch....not much more, so I'm not sure if I have the required clearance or not. Also, I've read on here that it's a good idea to regear if you are riding on 35" or taller tires......I currently have 3.55 gears so regearing would probably be a good idea if I were to go to a taller, heavier tire.

I'm have 3.73 gears. I think that will be ok with 35's from what I've read...

How wide are our factory 20's? Have seen it here before but can't recall...

The OEM 20's are 8.5 inches wide with 6.5 inches of backspacing. A lot of members have used them and a leveling kit to fit 35x12.50's, however they are close to the upper ball joint/control arm. So close that some MT's with large sidewall lugs will rub constantly. I wouldn't go any wider than a 12.50 inch wide (305mm) tire using the OEM 20's.

I have your solution! The Terra Grappler comes in a 295/60/20. Which is a 34'' tire. I bet they would look incredible. Discount Tire Direct sells them for $306 each. They are not on the website, because they are a special order tire. They told me to just call their sales line and they'd get them for me.

I put 325/60/20 tires on my truck when i had just the level kit and they rubbed bad. My solution was a 6" inch lift not new tires, as I used it as an excuse to raise it up. Good luck

Where you running your factory wheels then too??

I know I'm going with BFG AT's now!

Just need to pick 325/60/20's or the 285/65/20's...

I did a search and found some guys have run the 325's with a level and say to have had minor rubbing at full lock and some had to trim some of the inner fender liner back... I'm ok with doing this... Just don't want any issues...
Or it to look like the tires are to big for the truck...

I want the height... But really dig the wider stance too... And right now just bought a house so don't have the cash for more lift yet... But NEED tires... And do plan on a 4" Rancho maybe in a year or so...

SWEET Truck BTW>
