Stock chrome center caps don't fit?

I recently put a set of the stock 97-03 Chrome 5 spoke F150/Expo rims on my 2000 F-150 and center caps won't clip onto the lugs.

I've been told that Ford used to use 12mm wheel studs, then sometime around 2001 or so they went to 14mm wheel studs. Seems my truck uses the 12 and the rims came from a truck with 14mm studs so the center caps are made to fit over 14mm lugnuts, which is why they won't fit on my 12mm lugnuts.

I've tried the caps that came with the chrome rims and the caps that came with my original saw blade rims, both dont work. Before I silicone these things on, any better suggestions? Can I get fatter & longer lug nuts?
