Need New Tires....Suggestions?? Thompson vs. Goodrich

Hey all- I currently have NItto Terra Grappler All Terrain 325-60R-20 tires on my truck. I have never been too impressed with them. They always seem to spin a lot. I've had them on for 30,000 miles now. I love the Thompson Baja ATZ tires. ANyone have any feedback on them? What size would be equivlant to what I have 35X12.50R20LT? Also, how would they compare to the BF Goodrich? I don't see myself buying Nitto tires again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

thank god someones finally getting off the Nitto band wagon.

Im glad i never got on, too many people i change tires for have **** poor reviews on Mud grap, Terra grap, only seen or worked with dune graps once.

but to answer your question i believe you could possibly get 35-40k miles out of set of ATZ's but they will wear faster than a BFG TA KO 60k + is very managable with these. I had a set going on 80k.

I really like the ATZ's they are unique, and ride nice (slightly louder than the BFG). But ive never personally ran them so cant give you much info there. I got a few buddies with them and LOVE em.

BFG TA KO's are proven. This tire kicks butt, your not gonna find a better ALL AROUND tire. Like i said ive had a set on its way to 80k then sold them had a few other sets 50k-60k. Thats the first tire i put on my F150 then lifted it and it looked stupid so i got ride of them they had 20k miles and now are under my stepdads F250 7.3L with another 10k miles and still look amazing.

If you want something alittle more agressive check out Procomp Extreme AT

HOLY CRAP THAT WAS A LONG POST>>>>

Right, they are getting great reviews and the Pro Comp Xtreme AT is another goood choice. Your tires are basically a 35x13.00-20 tire so a 35x12.50 or 35x13.50 will be close to the same size.

Thanks for the responses. I never thought of looking at the Procomp tires. If I could get 70-80K miles out of the BF it would definitely be worth the added cost. I believe they run about $100 more per tire than the ATZ's.

I just checked and the Procomp 35/12.5/20 run $363 a tire which is not bad and it incldues a 40,000 mile warranty. The ATZ is about $367 a tire. Toyo had a bad *** looking tire at $410, but I'm not getting Mud tires. The BF Goodrich has a 325/60r/20 for $432.

I like the look of the Baja the best, but from what it seems the BF is the most durable and long lasting and they look nice too. The Nitto tires were included in the package when I bought my rims, so this is the first time I have to buy tires for this truck. On my Tahoe it was just Michelin every time. Decisions Decisions Decisiosns!!

i think between the Procomp, BFG, and Mickeys you will be happy no matter which you choose.

the 40,000 mile warranty is also very nice aswell.

BFG's will last a long time if you keep them rotated and aired properly.

I've had my ATZ's for about 6-7k now... LOVE them... they look real aggressive and pretty quiet on the roads... they have handled everything I have thrown at them...

My buddy who has a F250 with BFG's says he'd rather have mine just for the looks. We were both parked in a muddy field after 2" of rain. he had to rock his truck to get it out.. the ATZ's drove out like a champ.

So far tires still look brand new. I'm going to rotate every 5-6k.

I bought mine at 4wheelparts.com got them 305/55/20 for $1300 mounted and balanced (I picked up at their store) They usually have a deal on the Pro Comp's and ATZ's for like buy 3 get 1 free or $100 off..

Not bashing your tires at all, but your buddys F250 is a lot heavier than your truck.

ANy of the choices already listed above will be great

Yeah I wasnt arguing man Those ATZs are probably a little better off road, the BFGs have a closed shoulder whereas the ATZs have open shoulders- probably gives them an edge in the mud.
