Did my brakes today!

Holy mother of God! Could Ford have torqued the spindle nut a little more. Good thing I've had children!

OK, got a question. Does anyone ever put the springy thingies back into the pads? I tried but didn't have any success. I was cusing like a **** trying to get those little &(*(@^_@#&_ back in.

I just did mine today. yes i put the springs back, it would seem then help the pads release when you take your foot off the pedal.

I dont think it would harm anything if they werent put back, however some engineer somehere thought they were needed

The springs also help stop the brake squeal when in the released position.

Can you share a technique? I tried putting the springs in the pads and then sandwiching the pads together but they were too thick to slip in the caliper. Frustrated after screwing with it for a while I threw in the towel and left them out.
