Need bigger tire help for '03 FX4 Scab!
My '03 F-150 4x4 FX4 Scab is in need of new tires. It's all bone stock. Currently have 265/70R17 radials on them on the stock 17x7.5 rims.
I want to put bigger tires on the same rims.
What's the biggest size I can get on my rims? Is it 285/70R17 or can I squeeze in 295-305/70R17?
Any suggestions on tires for an "aggressive pavement-pounder" look?
Thanks all!

Without leveling kit you want to stay in the 33" range. Since you said aggressive pavement punder I would assume you want to go with a nice set of ATs. I would use a 285/70/17 or a 305/65/17, those are about the same height the 305 is just wider. Good tires in those sizes are BFG AT, Procomp Xtreme AT, Micky Thompson Baja ATZ and the Nitto Terra Grappler (they also have 295/70 which would work).
EDIT: noticed you have an 03, no leveling kit required, just crank torsion bars if you want to go a little larger than a 33, or just want the leveled look with 33.

The absolute largest tire you can fit is a 315/70-17 (35x12.50). They will barely fit if you use the OEM wheels. They will also rub the frame slightly at full steering lock. Personally, I wouldn't go that large unless you plan on a lift kit in the near future. I'd go with something slightly smaller like a 305/70-17 (34x12.50), 305/65-17 (33x12.50), 295/70-17 (34x12.00) or a 285/70-17 (33x11.50).
