ABS Questions!!!!!!!!
I have an 07 F150 5.4 SC. Sometimes when I hit a few bumps my ABS light comes on. I think it happens mostly when stopping. It doesn't happen everyday. It will stay on until I restart the motor. Any idea's? I haven't checked the fluid level, but I will this afternoon. I am riding on 33" 285/65/18 E Nitto Terra Grapplers which are much much stiffer than the stockers. The shop put 60 lbs. pressure. Is that to much? They are rated for 80 lbs.

The tires are not going to be the source of your ABS problem. The amount of air pressure in your tires often varies given different circumstances. Tire pressure when hauling a load may need to be higher than no load at all, also the air temp outside when you check your tires is important, there is a good sticky thread here for that. Also based on the load range of your tire the recommended tire pressure may vary. As you have an E rated tire 60 lbs does not seem like too much.
Always a good idea to keep up with your brake fluid levels, your light may be coming on do to a faulty abs sensor OR a dirty sensor. Here is a reference you may want to use to clean your sensors http://autorepair.about.com/od/regul...s_sens_cln.htm

That 60 is a bit high for those tires. Run them at 50, which should be enough to handle anything you have loaded in the vehicle as long as you are not over the vehicles limits.
As far as the ABS light, it would not surprise me if you do not have a bad connection to a sensor, or a bad sensor.

The bad sensor or connection sounds right. As far as running 60 lbs of pressure in your "E" rated tires, unless you are hauling a lot of weight, your tires will not last long... I have Toyo Open Country MTs, they too are "E" rated, and I run about 5 pounds more in the front than the back do to the weight of the engine. 45 to 50 in front and 40 to 45 on the rears.

Well I cleaned the front sensors. No luck, is their a rear sensor? Called Nitto, said to run 45lbs. Thanks. I thought 60lbs was a little high.
Is the next step to start replacing the sensors? Is their other possibilities, needing the truck to go into the shop for a better diagnosis?
